I've just started a new job at an interior design studio, Moss and Lam. For the past week, non stop, I've helped build a custom installation that will be showcased at this years Toronto Interior Design Show. It opens Thursday January 26th, 2012 and runs till Sunday January 29th. If you find yourself near the Metro Convention Centre in T.O. you should check it out.

I'll be there Sunday.

One of my favourite professor's at OCAD U, George Walker recently teamed up with Heather Mitchell and her letterpress studio, Just Vandy. She is publishing The Vandercook 100, which celebrates 100 years of the Vandercook Printing Press. The book includes yours truly printing on a Vandercook at OCAD U. I am apart of a new project, ARTBOMB, put together by Jim Shedden, Carrie Shibinsky and Andrea Carson.

ARTBOMB will send out an e-mail each day to subscribers who can bid on the featured work with the click of a mouse. Bidding will start at under $1,000 but some works will begin at $150. It happens 5 days a week. Bidding opens at 6 am and closes at 11 pm. Subscribers bid on the work and at the end of the day, the highest bid wins.

I have a piece coming up on Janurary 16th, 2012 so watch out for that!

"Through an Artist’s Residency at SPARK Contemporary in Syracuse, New York, XPACE invited 3 emerging artists, all having recently completed their Undergraduate degrees at OCADU, to participate in the Residency. The exhibition is a collection of work completed at SPARK, and influenced by the artists’ experiences there. INSIDE “OUT” explores the relationships of each artist to his or her individual practice with influences of time, space, place and interpersonal dynamics."

It's also the launch of XPACE's anthology, VOLUME2, which I have work in as well.

"K-Town is a video and performance based event by Luke Painter and Meera Margaret Singh that transforms the east area of Angell Gallery into a karaoke lounge. Inspired by karaoke culture and the often disparate and melodramatic video content that accompanies singing in karaoke bars, artists have been invited to create video and animation content to musical hits of their choosing. With a catalogue of over 30 songs, the public canvisit Angell Gallery September 21st-24th and sing along to their favourite tunes while enjoying the visual treatment of these songs by selected artists and designers. we made it in one piece... after a bit of a scare at the boarder, we did it. yay for my first time driving a uhaul/ road trip to the states! we celebrated by going out for dinner at this motocycle bar called dinosaur bbq and this special treat on the way home.

it cost $4.50 and yes, it's a 12 pack cut into a 6 pack.., 'murica!

UPDATE.
i have been invited to do a residency in syracuse, new york. I AM REALLY EXCITED. i've never been to new york city so that's on the to do list, as well as celebrating july 4th in 'MURICA!... and to make new work obviously. i'm sharing my live/work studio with two talented artists jillian kay ross and liam wylie. i'm also moving out of my current apartment at the same time. some serious couch surfing and house hunting will be going down the week before i leave/come back... which is june 8th and when i come back in the middle of july (just in time for the toronto outdoor art exhibition).

I won a spot at this year's The Artist Project Toronto as part of their Untapped Emerging Artist Competition. I am also 1 of 5 photographers who has work in the SONY 3-D Lounge. I'll be hanging out at booth 945 the whole weekend.
